Davey Cartage is the primary transportation company in British Columbia for heavy haul trucking of bridge girders, oversize and overweight loads. We have the largest inventory of expandable and steering trailers in the province, as well as traditional local and long haul flatdeck service. Based in Surrey, British Columbia, our fleet provides service to contractors in British Columbia, Alberta, Washington and Oregon.

Davey Cartage has enjoyed tremendous growth by focusing on customer service, specialized equipment, driver training and project logistics. We provide transportation solutions for our customers in the engineering, fabrication, machinery, and construction industries.

Some of the larger projects we have been contracted for are:

2009 –   Pitt River Bridge

We hauled the precast concrete girders for the approaches either side of the main span.

2007 – 2008   Golden Ears Bridge

We hauled the precast concrete girders for the north and south approaches to the bridge.  The girders ranged up to 50 meters long, 100 tonne each.

2006 – 2007   Canada Line Skytrain extension

We hauled the precast concrete guideway segments for the elevated portion of the line in Vancouver, Richmond and at the Vancouver Airport.  We also hauled the launching truss (58 meters long, 130 tonne) between sites along the line.

2006 – 2009   Sea To Sky Highway

We hauled bridge girders for over 40 bridge structures along this stretch of the highway during the upgrading.

2000 – 2001   Millennium Line Skytrain extension

We hauled the precast concrete guideway segments for the elevated portion of the line in New Westminster, Burnaby and Vancouver.  We also hauled the launching trusses (58 meters long, 130 tonne) between sites along the line.

1999 – 2000   Vancouver Island Hwy between Courtenay and Campbell River

We hauled all the bridge girders for this portion of the highway. The bulk of the girders were shipped to Vancouver Island on chartered vessels, as the BC Ferry system could not handle the volume.

Upcoming in 2010   Port Mann Bridge

In addition to these major projects we have been contracted to haul the approach spans for the new Port Mann Bridge starting in 2010.
